Meet Mr. Pomeroy
Hello! Thanks for taking time to visit Merton Physical Education website. I am Mr. Pomeroy. I have been teaching physical education, health education, and specially designed physical education since 2004 in Merton WI. I am very lucky to be a part of the Merton Community School District and teach some of the best physical education students in the world! I am huge proponent of physical fitness and fitness related sport activities. I enjoy finding, creating, and implementing new activities into the curriculum every year. We must keep things fresh and exciting to keep our students motivated and interested in physical education! Everything we do at Merton gets our students ready to be fit for life!

Training for the 2013 Boston Marathon
I am currently training for the 117th running of the Boston Marathon on April 15, 2013. I am an avid runner and enjoy running any races, but I am really looking forward to running the Boston Marathon. I have ran 3 previous marathons and ran my PR 2:56.59 at the Lakefront Marathon in 2011. I have also ran Chicago in 2010 and Champaign-Urbana in 2009. I have ran many half marathons and my PR is a 1:23.35. I have hopes of running many more marathons in my life, because running gives me great goals to say healthy.
Merton Area Running Club - Track N Field & Cross Country
This is my 7th season coaching the Merton Area Running Club. I work with the distance runners during our track and field season and I really enjoy watching the dedicated runners pushing themselves to get better every day. I also work with the high jumpers. I truly enjoy running the cross country program because the running group is much smaller than our track team, so it allows for us to work much more close with every runner. We also have the ability to run more miles and focus our training for the longer distances and different courses that you encounter throughout the season.
